Bradford Odeon.

I did two visits here and have attempted to get images of the parts of the cinema, hidden since its twinning alterations in 1968.

It opened in 1930 and had a massive 3300 seats origianlly, putting it in the top 10 largest uk theatres, it closed in 2000

Wakefield abc/regal/cannon cinema

The Wakefield abc was designed by the architect W.R.Glen and was opened on Dec 9th 1935, it was tripled in 1976 and closed in 1997.
It is awaiting demolition and redevelopment, a sad, sad end for this once magnificent theatre.

urban exploration.

(A control panel at yorkshire chemicals.)

In recent months i have gained a growing interest for urban exploration.

The hobby revolves around accessing old abandoned buildings, and having a good look around somewhere that is supposed to be "out of bounds".

You can find some strange things in some buildings, such as an abandonded funeral parlour in a mill at greenfield, or a veritable lake in the old wakefield ABC cinema. All of this makes the hobby more fascinating.

Most urban explorers have ethics as well. They do not break and enter or vandalise properties, the aim being to try and capture the places in high standard photography.

Access to the buildings is usually created by Britains burgeoning "chav" culture or copper theives etc and not the explorers themselves. On the point of access i would like to point out that trespass is not a criminal offence and if asked to leave then it is worth doing so to avoid problems.

I hope that gives people a brief insight into what it is all about, you can regularly find me on http://www.28dayslater.co.uk

First post

Hi there and welcome to my weblog or "blog"!

I thought with blogs growing in popularity that i too would give it a go, and here i am.

Things seem to move so fast, i was born and brought up during the 1980's and 1990's when computer technology was not as prevalent in society. Indeed , i can remember there being a computer club at middle school. I thought it was rather geeky and that it would never take off, how wrong was i?. We now live in an information and communication age.

If youd like to discuss anything i raise in my posts, then email me on : GENERAL_ENQUIRIES@HOTMAIL.CO.UK

Thanks,

Sean
